Radiator Support Assembly
I am in the process of tearing the front clip off and my rad support assembly is toast and beyond repair.. Question is, what were the major differences between years on these? I can only find a picture/diagram of one and they are all same.. my rig is a 68 GMC and it looks similar to the 69-72 chev rad supports..
Any insight would be greatly appreciated.. Dont feel like ordering one and getting the wrong thing |

Re: Radiator Support Assembly
Chevy and GMC core supports are different I am pretty sure.
So far I have not found a core support for a 67 or 68 GMC in the books I have. Hopefully some one else will chime in with more information.

Re: Radiator Support Assembly
I don't know much, but I just happen to have a Chev rad support in the back of the truck. First thing I noticed was there are only mounting provisions for two headlamps on the Chev support.

Re: Radiator Support Assembly
the wonderful world of gmc's. mine is a 72. i would make a guess that a newer style rad support will be too tall for a 68 gmc. in 69 both chevy and gmc went to the squared off taller hood, even though gmc ran the 67-68 chevy fenders all the way to 72. i would assume that with a little fab work, you could easily get a later style gmc rad support to work in the early gmc's. the other option would be to get a 67-68 chevy rad support and add the provisions for mounting the head lights and blinkers. i'd try the later gmc support first. hope that helps.
