Thanks Montefreak GMCPAULS and Carolina Classics sell TriPlus like we do and most all the other vendors. Just really depends on part as Triplus does not make everything Last edited by mbgmike; 03-26-2010 at 01:43 PM. |

Re: GMCPAULS sheetmetal quality
I dont know which brand he uses but I have had extremely good luck with TRIPLUS replacement panels. As far as the fit goes they have all been extremely close to the original sheet metal. JUST MY 2 Cents. Good luck with your panels.

Re: GMCPAULS sheetmetal quality
Their sheet metal panels might be okay, but their chrome grills aren't.
I bought aGMC grill, top bar and eyebrows, all TRiPlus from GMC Paul,They rusted something awful. Paul could offer no help. So much for the "limited 5 year warranty" Very limited, I'd say.

Re: GMCPAULS sheetmetal quality
i ordered a drip rail from them and it was nowhere near correct. i couldnt even make it work. after a while of arguing and telling ME that i was wrong, paul said i could return it, BUT i would have to pay to ship it back and i would not get a refund from my origional shipping! so i would have paid $30 in shipping alone and had nothing to show for it all because he sent me a crap part, that couldnt even be fab'd up to work. i ended up finding an origional drip rail from the junk yard and used that. I dont order from him anymore.

I'd go to a local or swap and buy. That way you SEE what you pay for!!

Re: GMCPAULS sheetmetal quality
Not a bad idea. I just went down to get a fender locally, I opened the box of the first one they brought out and it was dinged.

Re: GMCPAULS sheetmetal quality
There are some advantages to buying local. They need your business so they want your money and you to be satisfied, you can get some good advice on things such as fitment and quality, shipping cost for a local guy is usually cheaper. And investing keeping money and a job for someone in a local area may pay a small part in your local community. The same goes with when ever possible to support vendors on this site who helps pay the costs for keeping this site free for us to enjoy. I usually buy after consideration of all these factors are considered. As stated above there are very few choices of manufactures of most items. You must consider the service and the knowledge to be a big factor in buying anything.

Re: GMCPAULS sheetmetal quality
One more plus to buying locally (within a reasonable driving distance) is that you will have a real neck to get your grubby grabbers around if things aren't right.
Plus as Sinister mentioned, you get to look at and touch each piece before you load them up and haul them home that way. Sheet metal and shiny trim seem to be the two items where there is a great disparity on quality of all the things we put on our trucks. On engine and chassis parts as long as we stick with name brands it doesn't usually matter who we get it from if the deal and service are good. |
