plain jane truck
Davy- are you gonna save that one from an unknown fate? It looks like its in a wrecking yard, if I had more room where I am I might not be able to resist an opportunity like that if the price was right. I don't think I've ever seen as short an options list as that one has-pretty basic- it looks not in bad shape, fairly straight and original. Better make a move (easy for me to say!) on that one. Best of luck.

lpaine,
I've thought about saving it. It's in great shape. The doors are almost perfect, couple dings in the fenders. The bed floor and grill are beat up a bit, but overall it would be an easy project I'm holding out for a Blazer though. It's in a local junk yard...I didn't ask what the guy wanted for it. The guy was very strange, I snapped a couple pics and got the hell out of there. Spooooky!

If you are not going to grab it or some parts, I could use some sheet metal. Where's it at?

He "edited" Racedvl's options sheet, which I think is shorter than that ones...I think it only has 4 options.

With a real list I think I am in competition with you. Mine had alsmost nothing but paint...even that is debatable now.

My dad bought a new Chevy truck in 1972. Here's the story on it:
My dad dropped in on a family member (uncle) who used to work at a local F**d dealership back in the early 70's. While there he tried to sell my dad a new F**d. Dad told him he wasn't interested in one. This particular dealer had a new 1972 Chevy on the floor with absolutely NO options that they had ordered this way to try and convince potential F**d truck buyers that the F**d's were better equipped than their Chevy competition. Dad noticed the new red Chevy longbed truck sitting over in the corner and asked my uncle about it. My uncle explained to my dad about the reason they had the Chevy. This truck had absolutely not the first option on it - had the radio and cigarette deletes on it!! Dad asked about buying it and the sales manager sold it to him - and he paid, I believe, $2600 new for it. I'll have to ask him but I believe that's the correct amount. Anyway, dad drove this truck for about 15 years and finally sold it. I wasn't into long bed trucks AT ALL back then so I didn't ask about buying it from him. Wish now that I had - I own my grandfathers old '70 C-10 longbed that he bought new in Jan. 1970 and it would be nice to have the 1972 C-10 longbed that dad bought new. I've often wondered if it's still on the road around here someplace. This truck would have been the champ on the no options challange!! Wish I had a photo of the glove box sticker on it. I believe I do have a picture of the truck somewhere though. I just thought I'd share this true story with you fellow Chevy truck enthusiasts. Robert Edit : Talked to dad tonight and it was $2230 he paid for the truck instead of $2600 like I thought. DAMN I need a time machine!!

I'll have to get a pic of mine--it is a short list also. It shows heavy duty rear springs, a rear bumper, and a heater.
My truck has a cigarette lighter delete and radio delete. It is a 1967, 250 6 cylinder, three speed on the column, long step. Got no door arm rests, no accessory position on the ignition (maybe none of them did,Idon't know), one sun visor, rubber floor mat. Heck, the dome light doesn't operate from door switches--you have to turn it on manually (again, maybe they are all this way, I don'tknow). But as stripped down and cheap as it was, it is a great truck. I love it. OCB |

options
While I was at a local 67-72 chevy truck parts store a guy pulls up in a blue and white 72 cheyenne super, said he just bought it and wanted to change some stuff on the truck that he did not like. first thing he wants to to is take off the lights on top of the cab, then he said he didn't like the tool box on the side of the bed so he needs another bed and that light on the back of the cab needs to come off also he said
Most people would love to have this stuff,I hope I see that guy again ,I would be more than happy to take all the option he want on his truck. I guess he wanted a no option truck
