72 Chevy one ton single rear with disc brakes??

about to pick up a rolling frame from a 72 chevy 4x4 truck. it is 8 lug and has the one ton style rear end with the front loaded chunk and also has disc brakes.it is 8 lug and im getting the 4 speed and transfer case as well.is this a one ton or 3/4 ton? ill probably try and sell it but just want to figure out what it is. thanks

Well,there were no factory K/30s.It could be a C/30 Napco conversion.Most likely a K/20 and some HO52s had the pre-load set on them.Only the brakes and bearings vary between HO52 and HO72...other than the pre-load.

Rear disc brakes were probably onstalled as a cheaper alternative to buying drums for these rear ends. Discs are all later model stuff with 14 bolt brackets.

It is a 3/4 ton. Front discs were standard starting in '71.
