Cab Mounts
I'm about to buy some rubber cab mounts from Brothers, and I was noticing that their add says that the kit does not come with spacers.
I'm not really sure what that means. Can someone help me with that? Do I need spacers? Here's the kit I'm looking at. http://www.brotherstrucks.com/prodin...number=CMS6772

Re: Cab Mounts
They are referring to the crush sleeves, if yours are good i would clean them up and reuse them. you can see the sleeves in the picture at the link below.

Re: Cab Mounts
usually they rust up pretty good, stick to the mounts etc after being attached all those years. you can see if brothers sells those sleeves seperate, or check with a board vendor for those or the complete kit.

Re: Cab Mounts
Mine was rusted pretty bad.
I would recommend a kit with the spacers. Save the originals though to compare the height to the new ones. The kit I got from CPP (I think, it's been a while) came with four spacers the same length (the fronts om my '67 were shorter than the rear). I didn't catch it until I was having problems lining up the front clip. Luckily I still had the originals in a box so I cut down the new ones to match the originals and everything lined up fine.

Re: Cab Mounts
I bought the spacers from Brothers without reading that they didn't come with sleeves. Had to buy the sleeves from LMC and ended up paying premium for the whole set. Could have got them at GMC Paul's for less. You will definitely need them.
(usless post, I know. I just had to post something!)

Re: Cab Mounts
I always just cut new ones from a piece of round tubing. You can usually get a "drop" of tubing a few feet long for a buck or so at any steel yard.

Re: Cab Mounts
Brother's also doesn't tell you that the kit is not complete. Try ECE - complete kit and nice guys.
