Gauge Cluster with Tach
Over the weekend, I picked up a Gauge Cluster with a Tach. The lens reads 5000 rpm max. Are there differences between the OEM Tach's. Were they all for 8 Cylinders or did the 6 cylinders offer a Tach also.

Re: Gauge Cluster with Tach
iirc, both the 6 and 8 cylinder tachs went to 5,000 - the difference is internal. take a look on the back of the tach tin. in most cases, the factory stamped "6 CYLINDER" or "8 CYLINDER" on the back. the 6 cylinder tachs are a bit harder to find.
fyi, the diesel tachs registered up to 4,000.

Re: Gauge Cluster with Tach
Thanks Nate, Ipicked it up at Carlisle on Friday Afternoon. The tach and the other gauges are fine, the rest of the cluster needs some work. Im going to get a new bezel, lens and I bead blasted the tins today. Should look nice when it's done. I've been looking for a tach cluster for a while....man I love going to swap meets
