taking out 350
I have a '75 burb. Do I have to remove the hood to take out the 350? Also any other tips would be appreciated. I am a total rookie.

That will help out a lot. Depending on what you are planning on using, you can unbolt the A/C and power steering from the engine to remove it, then come back for them later. I am guessing you are stripping it as a donor for your pickup? If that is the case, it may be faster and easier to remove the front end, and pull the engine and transmission as a unit.

Take pictures at different angles before you start and save ALL the bolts.

If you are planning on parting out the 'burb, and don't care how it goes back together, I would pull the clip, just to get it out of the way. That will make it easier to get to the suspension I am assuming you will use, too. I like the extra room to work, too.

you dont tell us alot here but i agree with johnboy pull the clip if youre scrapping the burb as it goes easier and if you want to make it easy pull the trans with it.
If youre not pulling the trans too and this is a motor swap, make sure you remember to get the torque convertor bolts as the first swap i did i forgot them You have to pull the radiator and at the very least the hood. I also find it a heck of alot easier to leave the exhaust manifolds in as the bolts that hold them onto the block are alot easier to break loose and unbolt than the flange bolts like the other poster said make sure you label things with masking tape and labelled sandwich bags with the bolts are another good idea also the stupidest advice can be the best advice.. make sure the truck is properly supported and blocked before you start this job
