anyone have any close up pics of powersteering hoses with DRopmember

Anyone running a Dropmember with factory powersteering pump , have any pics of the routing of your ps hoses, i got a premade hose kit from jegs..it just doesnt look like there is anyway to make it happen without serious modification to the powersteering bracket

Not sure if this helps any. My engine is from a mid 80s pickup. Closest view of the ps hoses that I have in my photobucket. I got my hoses from JEGS also

looks like your pump sets up a lot higher than mine, mine sets right down on the lines

They were a pain. I removed the pump from the block and hooked all the lines up then bolted back on but I had to make sure all the lines were in the right positions.

Re: anyone have any close up pics of powersteering hoses with DRopmember

Any way to run hard lines from the rack, to a remote location on the frame? (Maybe toward the front of the frame) And then run your flex line to that, instead of directly to the rack?
Just end the hardlines somewhere, that the flex lines will looks "nice",... not bunched up.

I think the difference in P/S brackets depends on whether you have the long or short waterpump set-up.
Bazooka has the long water pump brackets.

Re: anyone have any close up pics of powersteering hoses with DRopmember

Check out billet specialties or Detroit speeds hose kits if you have issues with the jegs kit. They used a braided style hose that you can cut to length and put the hose ends on plus they come with the right rack fittings. They look a lot better and are easy to route. Whatever you do make sure you use a high pressure hose and hose ends on the pressure side , the return you can use whatever.

Rubber or steel braided flexible line as opposed to a rigid steel line.

The bracket closer to the frame that also bolts to the motor mount has been removed. I tried it for a while without it and have had no issues. I think it could be modified to work with more room for the hoses but I haven't messed with it. These hoses are to long and I may get some shorter ones later down the road.

What type of 'braided lines'? SS or other choices as well? What about guys that don't want braided SS lines?

Not sure which brand that Jegs sales.... but we do offer a kit from Borgeson that works great. It is a universal kit (so certain applications may need to route the hoses a little differently). It has all the necessary fittings,is a rubber hose kit and runs $70. It's a great option for those not wanting to run the braided stainless. We have installed the kit on SBC and GEN3 motors without issues... it's the only rubber hose kit I will sell.

Re: anyone have any close up pics of powersteering hoses with DRopmember

the problem might be that i am running a short water pump ! the ones i got from jegs have hydraulic style fittings on them and it makes them to big to make that kind of bend, i am also going to have to modify the back bracket on my ps pump.. Nathan did you ever come up with any pics of one with one of your hose kits on it that i could see??? my hoses are the same one on NASTYC10 truck

The hose routing won't be any different looking than the ones that NastyC10 has. They will loop down and then up. The short water pump could be one of your difficulties. However, with then GEN3 motor and the truck accessory brackets it gets pretty tight too. Post up some close up pics of where you are running into difficulties.

Re: anyone have any close up pics of powersteering hoses with DRopmember

67cheby, did you ever get everything hooked up? I have had the same problem, and I have to run the rear bracket because some previous owner broke a bolt off in one of the mounting holes on the front of the block, and it WILL NOT come out. it has been fine with the one bolt up front and the bracket that hooks to the motor mount for a long time though, and I ordered new stuff for my powersteering yesterday, so Im putting it all in this weekend. I ordered a new rack (and getting rid of my autozone special) and also got the borgorson line kit. Just how are the hoses routed?

Re: anyone have any close up pics of powersteering hoses with DRopmember

I may have to modify mine to make it work.

How did you route the hoses? They make a 90 degree turn after they come out of the rack... so which way are they pointing? and what about the high pressure one coming out of the pump? If you can take a picture or two, that would be a HUGE help.

We have said it in the past our rack fittings swivel once there are tight in the rack still
you can still swivel them around and this will make it easier for you guys in tight issues.
They are $120.00 and in stock same day shipping. They are not rubber only braided s.s
Sorry about that. For the price you cannot go wrong
