front suspension pics
Since it is just suspension I thought I would put it over here. This started as a Morrison front clip but was modified for the shockwaves. This is down and look at how little negative camber it has. I'm pretty impressed.

It wasn't designed to lay frame but it gets pretty low.

At point the hinges have not been discussed much. Steve made an initial attempt at something when the firewall was be shaved but quickly realized it wasn't what he wanted. Occasionally he mentiones it so I think he has something in mind. I am fairly sure it will come from the firewall though and will be made not bought.

The body is barely together and the door is literally taped on so don't pay attention to those gaps. Plus I really have to give it up to Rodney on this suspension. Morrison only makes a setup for double convoluted bags so there is more work here than meets the eye. He really did an awesome job on this. I only wish I had a good pic of the lower control arm. The mount he came up with for the shockwave is so simple and impressive. It wasn't simple to make but it sure looks simple.

Hey I found a pic of the lower A arm. Keep in mind this was just a bare A arm to start with. The bolt is not all the way in either. One side is basically a sleve and the other has threads. The bolt was even made for this application. I really get excited about the little things like this.

that looks so much like the future of my project! it's like seeing thru a time machine. i love it! i am still working on the body right now, but i got the metal for the new frame ready to go. did you use 2x4 tubing there? who bent it for you? or did you cut weld for shaping frame? hope to see more pics!

That's a 245/40/20 tire.
Custom Chevy it is a 2x4 rail that was used. It started as a Art Morrison front clip with extra long rails. The rails extended to the point of the kickup for the rear end. The back portion was built at the shop. I have seen those hinges and they are nice units. Did I see a pic of your cab and you flattened the floor under the seat?

I've got another question for you brad2, I'm not sure about the laws in Oklahoma, but in Canada a vehicle has to be inspected before it can be insured and driven. One of the main qualifications is that welding on the frame on the vehicle voids the chance of insuring the vehicle. So the question I have is what are you planning on doing with your truck when you want to drive it and are the laws different down there?

Oklahoma has done away with vehicle inspections. The truck has a title so I don't think it would have been an issue here. Mostly they checked lights, tires, and glass before inspections were discontinued. I'd be screwed if I lived in Canada I guess.

Looking very nice brad2. Each time I see your pics I reconsider using modified stock truck stuff for mII or something similar.

i've been working on the floor for rust issues, but have not dropped the floor. i have considered altering the rear cab mount locations to be even with front mounts, but that is a way off possibility.
as far as the floor goes, i still need to check the rest of the metal and see if it will be salvageable. if it's toast, i will most likely flatten it and build some custom storage drawers for use as the seat mounts. |

See, I have a question. I wanna eventually run some 22's on my '67. My question is, is there a front suspension that gets pretty good drop and also lifts pretty high. I like what they look like aired up. But also dropped for blvd. cruisin. Thanks.
