Offered a Free Enlargement Today!
No, not the kind you see on TV or in the back of magazines, the OTHER kind! I met a guy today, (that could be taken the wrong way), at a junkyard that has a '67 truck like mine, however, his is a big back window and mine is small one. I kinda prefer the big window, and he wishes his was a small window... so then we started trade talk - straight over cab for cab. Is someone getting the short end here, or does it seem like truck fans helping each other out? Would you do it?
By the way, from description, seems like both cabs are in the same shape.

Re: Offered a Free Enlargement Today!
I know the only rust in mine is at the bottom of the kick panels, about a 3"x1/2" strip on both sides. I definitely won't do it if there is more rust than mine has... I know - Spoiled Californian!

Re: Offered a Free Enlargement Today!
If you like the big window and the condition of the cabs are equal- I don't see why you wouldn't do it. My only reason for keeping my rusty-a$$ small window cab is that it clearly indentifies my truck as a one year only '67. I also have a '67 CST with the optional big back glass, I like it too, but it isn't as immediately identifiable as the small window.

Do what you prefer, the rest of us have opinions but you know what they say...
... assuming the condition of his is as good as yours. Cab, that is.

Re: Offered a Free Enlargement Today!
I like the small back window, but I think a big back window would fit the style I'm going for better. If I was doing a stock buildup or retro style, I would for sure keep my cab... now I'm thinking big window.

I agree. He has a stepper, and mine is a fleetside... so it would make sense.

Re: Offered a Free Enlargement Today!
Everyone here has a good point, but no one has mentioned title / vin changing. Some don't care , but it is kinda cool to say the vin matches the frame , and it has never been removed from the cab. Also , you have a base model truck , small window still fits that theme.Just another opinion - good luck.

Re: Offered a Free Enlargement Today!
I think that is a good point. how do you swap cabs legally? what paperwork is needed to deal with the fact that the frame vin and the cab vin are now different? I know there are many ways to deal with it, but if it were my truck I would want everything legal and done right. I still say if you want the big window get it, but the added paperwork should factor into your decision.

Re: Offered a Free Enlargement Today!
i would say you could switch cabs and nothing else then hand sell your cabs to each other for a dollar and you would both have the pinks to the new cabs gov. cant say any thing becauce you sold your cabs with pinks gov. never asid you cant sell your items for a dollar

Re: Offered a Free Enlargement Today!
I would not depend upon that being the case, of course some of this varies by state.
Here in Ohio, you would have more work to get this done. You would need the correct paperwork along with having an inspection done by the Highway Patrol. They would then issue a new VIN for the "assembled vehicle". This would get you a legal title, but it wouldn't be a '67 anymore. It would become a 2010 "self assembled vehicle".
