One of my customers got a stainless piano (not really off a piano) hinge. It went all the way across the bottom, so it didn't flex and let the door stick out at the bottom. I think it worked better than the original. I have never tried it, so can't tell the mods needed, but a nice end result.
A guy brought/sold me an NOS set about 5 years ago. He knew what he had=OUCH! I haven't had a truck good enugh to put them on, yet! I kind of use them so I know how to straighten the old used ones. I would show you a pic---but that would be cruel.

oh come on

What would be crueler, the price to own em or the picture? I dont have a problem making some new ones, but i figured somebody had some laying around from one of those rotted out doors (no shortage of them). If anyone should own those nos ones it should be me. Afterall, there going on an NOS (yes nos) tool door. I'll keep lookin. Is there anything frank would like to trade for????????

Bruce,
i know where that door came from !!!!!!!!!! did you check with the guy you bought it from ??? he probably has a few spare hinges, he's parted a lot of these trucks.
you must have something Frank can't live without. he's teasing you something terrible--kinda like being stuck in a phone booth at a nude beach, you know it's there but you can't put your hands on it, lol.

If it would help you, I have two that you could have for $4 (to cover shipping). One is good, the other has a broken pin in it.
I never had the third one.

Trade?

Hmmmmmmmmmm...Jerry Moss = tow hooks! That's a thought. Maybe some real nice 72 tow hooks. I would want to see pics. I make that mistake once already & got the wrong ones.

Frank,
you're really teasing Bruce now.lol.
i have a few sets of good used hinges--i also have 3 trucks with toolboxes, so i like to keep extras. N.O.S. would be nice though !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
just kidding Bruce, i wouldn't try to buy/trade them, i know you need them badly.

I wasn't trying to trade them to Jerry...his trade idea just reminded me of tow hooks. Bruce might have or find a set cheap in his area, that would make good trading items.

When i find an extra set of cheap tow hooks, youll be the first to know. I would rather fork out the cash. It would be faster.....

Come on now frank. You would have to sweeten the deal at least a little if i traded you some hooks. I will have to dig around and see what i can find. "pondering"
