Anyone completed the LS swap yet?
I have been doing a lot of searching and reading, and haven't found anyone who has completed the LS swap in out trucks. The one fellow board member has the bad a$$ orange truck, but not much info about it. I have found that I will need 98 F body exhaust manifolds in order to make it fit. I have a 01 6.0 LQ4 that I want to install in my 72 GMC. I currently have a 355 sbc with 200 4R trans. I would like to run a 4L60 with the 6.0, but the ECM that came with motor is for a 4L80 4wd. I'm just looking for some advice and knowledge about rounding up parts before getting started. I want to get info about the fuel pump, and running a return line. I have a Summit tank under the bed, now. I know I have to have at least 58 psi. I'm wanting to know if maybe my driveshaft will work with a 4L60, and what kind of linkage I will have to use to shift it? I also want to know which sensors are what so that I can hook them up to gauges. I have a complete 6.0 LQ9 with ECM, starter, p/s pump, a/c compressor, alternator. Will the a/c compressor work with my converted R134 system? Will the p/s pump work with my original steering box, maybe have to get hoses made. Thanks guys!!

Lots of completed conversions here, as well as lots in the works, including my own. Did they have the 4L80e in 2001? or is your computer a newer one. Not familiar with the tranny, thats why I ask.

Re: Anyone completed the LS swap yet?
I was told that the motor had a 4x4 4L80 behind it, and the ecm/computer came with my motor. I think I will keep my 200 4r and get the bowtie overdrives bracket to mount to my LS motor. I'm not sure how the ecm will work though with no electronic trans. behind it.
