'85 K30 454 bogs under load

Hi, I have an '85 K30 crew cab dually and when I'm climbing a hill or the truck is under load it feels like it's going to die. If I back off the throttle it's fine but as soon as I get back on it the same thing happens. I just replaced the fuel pump Saturday when I bought it and didn't notice it then. My ignition timing is at 12 adv when the vacume is hooked up to manifold vacume and 8 adv when unhooked. Help me out here, I'm getting anoyed.

I forgot to mention I have a Edelbrock 750 on it and I think it's lean so I guess that could be it. I live a 8600 ft so what should my secondaries be?

thats really really high altitude. It sounds like its starving for fuel, i would start with the fuel filter and a pressure tester on the pump.

Im new to rebuilding/tuning carbs but i promise its easy if your do some research. Try google and search for your carb tuning.

From what i read about the quadrajet its rated up to 750cfm, its more efficient than a 2 barrel carb as long as you dont smash on it opening the secondaries, when the secondarys do open you get alot of fuel. When tuned right it could be your perfect application, they are easy to find as well.
