Re: Ram air hood ..thoughts/ideas ????
My setup has been in the truck now for over 10 years. I did this before I ever saw anybody else doing it. As the TPI motor it has been in the truck since 1989 only a handful of people even knew about transplanting these motors back then. I was one of the first on this site to do it.
My cold air only cost me $25.00 total which is another reason I did it my way. Quote:
The hose I used is for just this type of setup. This is auto hose you buy at O-riley's not dryer hose.

Re: Ram air hood ..thoughts/ideas ????
I did have to chuckle a little bit. I like your ingenuity.
Here's a few shots of my ram air system. It definitely makes a difference. When I shift from 3rd to 4th gear at 90 MPH there's a definite kick that isn't there when I don't have it hooked up. The breather is from a '76 Vette ebay purchase. The tubes are 80's breather tubes used on Chevy/GMC trucks. The black plastic is ABS 3" and 4" Pipe from the hardware store. Both inlets sit directly behind the upper grill on right and lower grill on left and don't alter the factory appearance.

Old Yeller 1970,
I guess you have to run 90 MPH to keep it cooled off without no radiator in there!!! Sorry could resist. Nice setup you have. I like it!

Re: Ram air hood ..thoughts/ideas ????
Yeah, I have the worlds only air cooled 350. Thanks for the compliment.
I appreciate the effort you put into your TPI Cold Air intake setup. It looks sharp.
