NC 69 & 72 auto columns

what is the overall length of the automatic columns? Looking for one to put in a 54 chevy truck.

Racie,pics of your column.Not the greatest pics and brown look on lever is reflection from chair.Column and levers look like new penny.Gloss lacquer did much better job than enamel.Blasted and painted intermediate shaft is in box also.Thanks

Donald, i noticed some of your columns appear to have what looks like a detent plate at the bottom of the column. Was this detent plate used on all auto shift columns?

Not sure what you are referring to.All columns in previous pics are auto.Olive green shows best detail. at bottom of column 2 small black peices are to line up the bolts for shift tube and lower bearing collar.The holes in the housing itself are slotted and angled to give about a 1/4 " adjustment for shift tube to housing.next from bottom up is rubber boot and collar that bolt against it to inside firewall.it just secures the boot so the airflow cannot push it in.next up column is neutral safety switch. I bought batteries for my camera this morning and took pics of Bens 4 spd column but my daughter snagged it and took it with her to the lake.I will post the pics of it when she gets home. 4 spd and auto use the same housing and the 4 spd has a small plate bolted to it to cover hole for auto shift arm.If this does not answer your question let me know.

pics of Ben's 4spd column in gloss black lacquer.I have not heard bock from anyone else. I have 1 67/70 in box ready to ship in gloss black lacquer and I have 1 71/72 in gloss black lacquer in box ready to ship. I have 2 more column in primer that can go how ever needed.I am out of the 67/70 short gear indicators right now so any other columns would have to be 71/72 until I can get some. djmachinist I realized what you were talking about.non tilt auto columns have the external detent and tilt does not.

I have 2 columns painted with gloss black ready to ship now.Column it self is complete and ready to install.I don't know what you have now as far as linkage and brackets.I will post pics of complete auto trans linkage this afternoon and then you can let me know what pieces you need.
