Anti-lowering - Ball joint spacers

Ok, I want to lift the front of my 82. I'm going for a nostalgic 80's look with the N50's hangin' out the wheel wells and the shock and ball joint extenders up front to level the truck out. I'm not going for the 60's nose up straight axle, nor any flavor of pre-runner. As a visual aid, the truck sits just a little too high in the front with no motor, trans or me.

Like 383chevy's from page 3 for the fatty tire thread in the racing forum, only just a touch higher (I'd link here but darned if I know how.... being old is not all good).

I can find lift springs and spring spacers in 3", which would be about right. But I know that this much lift will play havoc with suspension travel. Back in the day, we would put in the ball joint spacers to help correct this. My question is, anyone know where I can get these? Oh, shock extenders would be nice too, but I imagine I can work around that issue.

Back in the day (the nostalgic 80's??), I don't know of anyone that lifted their truck to fit those N50's...... They just installed them as is.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.
It's like a highly skilled Morrocan sword fighter with a Damascus Steel Scimitar.....

Cubic inches is like Indiana Jones with a cheap pistol.

Re: Anti-lowering - Ball joint spacers

The N50's fit fine on the back, but I want to lift the front to level out the truck. 3/4 ton springs don't give me quite enough, and after that the front suspension travel isn't adequate for my dirt road.

Did this on several Chevelles and GTO's after the rear was lifted to get the tire clear - then had to lift the front to get the wight transfer. Back when noboy ran back halfs...

Re: Anti-lowering - Ball joint spacers

I am not a fan of ball joint spacers, they give more leverage against the rest of the parts.....and a heavy truck makes it worse.
