Newer OEM rims on our trucks - 6 bolt pattern
Are there any factory 6 bolt rims from newer trucks/SUV's that will bolt up to the stock 6 bolt pattern of our trucks?
I like the look of the SSR rims but was told they wouldn't fit. From what I have read, the 6 bolt pattern is the same but the bore is different. I would like to see what would bolt up without expensive machining. Greg

Not sure about the SSR (new Trailblazer type) rims but you will need to order spacers to get newer full size rims to fit on a pre 87 six lug hub. I found a great source on Ebay but it will take me a while to find him on my old computer.
There is also a bit of a deal about going from hub centric to rim centric. Think I used a 1.5" thick spacers on all corners. Trying to get a picture to load. |

I believe the Trailblazer bolt pattern is not 6x5.5''. But yes, the bore on the newer wheels is smaller. I dont remember exactly, but its in the neighborhood of a 1/4'' smaller.

Here is my truck with the 2000 Tahoe wheels. I used a 1.5" space on each corner. Tires are BFG 235/70 r 16. The truck has a 3 inch drop spindles & 4 inch lowering springs.

A 1 1/2" spacer really puts the rims on the outside of the corners.
What is the cost of spacers vs. machining the rims?

This is what I was thinking of, but there are so many other OEM 6 bolt rims to choose from now.
Any other pictures of rims installed on our trucks? Greg

Hmm, I wondering about this, too. I have a bunch of the 17" steel wheels and I was wondering if they would work on the older six lug pattern...

I'd love to see what the Silverado SS wheels would look like on our trucks (with shorter tires than in pic).

Re: Newer OEM rims on our trucks - 6 bolt pattern
I had a set on my 66 with a 1.5 spacer. Even with the spacer i could'nt put the center caps on the front due to the dust cap. Hope this helps some.

Re: Newer OEM rims on our trucks - 6 bolt pattern
I did not check the cost of machining as I needed a spacer so I could get the center cap to seat.

Re: Newer OEM rims on our trucks - 6 bolt pattern
I have thought about putting the wheels off my 04 Yukon onto my 65 and getting new wheels for the Yukon. But not sure I want to mess with the whole hub problem and spacers.
