Steering Column

I new here but have a 1966 GMC short wide bed and will post pictures later. I have a keyed tilt automatic steering column out of a 1976 or so GM truck. I was curious if anyone truck came standard withthe same kind of steerin column with out the key in it? Any help is much appreciated

Re: Steering Column

Tilts didnt come in trucks/vans until 71 or 72, the vans had tilt columns without the key until about 80-81, but they are shorter than truck columns.

Truck tilts started having the key I think 73

Re: Steering Column

You might have to buy a intermediate section from your rag joint to the column, not sure, but thats about it...
