Re: Lime Wife's 67
hopefully drive for a while i want to take the bed off and work on that end of the frame, and also clean up the a-frames and such when i get the motor back in, i assembled the front suspenison on my truck with a bare frame and it was a pain with no weight on the frame getting the springs to compress enough to get the nuts on the ball joints

Re: Lime Wife's 67
i like the 305 as much as a 350 to be honest my 305ho in my 86 monte carlo ss has been a super motor, and would run, but it has almost 190,000 on it now and gettng tired but don't use 1 ounce of oil between changes and i have never had the valve covers off since i had it just put a new intake gasket and rebuilt the carb, i bought it with 86 or 89,000 on it and gets sweet gas mileage

Re: Lime Wife's 67
well alittle set back on the motor the cyl. that got the water and bent the rod will need a sleeve put in it but after talking with my dad and the machine shop i am gonna do it that is all the motor needs, and i already have good pistons and all for it so this is still the cheapest way out

Re: Lime Wife's 67
I am subscribed to this thread! Lovin the truck and that it is for the wife and all the other stuff! Your probably right with the sleeve being your cheapest way out, hopefully it doesn't overheat easily, which may have caused the cracked head in the first place. You can go to pick-n-pull and yank a motor for around $150, but that's like gambling, you never know what your gonna get. I still wanna try it sometime. Haha.
