what drop spindle and brakes to use

I am new to the site, and WOW - what a resource.

I have a 69 CST swb that I bought out of Colorado, very solid but also a very amateur restoration, if you can even call it that. It has been lowered with springs front and rear, but retains drums brakes all around.

I have looked at lots of drop spindle manufacturers, suppliers, etc. It's kind of difficult to tell what spindle will work with what brake package, etc. Can anyone tell me what components are used in the different kits I see i.e. CPP, Early, etc.? Which use stock C10 or GM components and which use proprietary stuff?

Here is what I would LIKE to do; put a 2 - 2 1/2" drop spindle on and use stock brakes. It would be nice if that spindle could handle upgrading to Big Brakes if I ever win the lottery.

Thanks in advance for you help! Kevin
