3/4 ton coil rear end

Does anyone know how new I can go on my 72 rear end. I want a posi rear, but am having a hard time locating one for 68-72 8 lug. I thought that maybe I would have more luck if I could go into the late 70's, or maybe the 80's. Thanks for your input.

Those would be 14 bolts from 1973+. I can only repeat what I have heard, the 14 bolt posi is weak. Something to be avoided. Like I said it is only hear-say.
On the other hand. What rearend do you have? Dana 60 or Eaton? I have seen several Detroit Lockers for the Eaton's in the last 2 months and there was a Dana posi on the parts board last week.

What type of open rear end do you have? If you have the Eaton rear it only takes a few bolts and 30 minutes to swap it out. If you have the Dana then you need to look at swapping the entire axle or paying $200 to have the posi installed.
And lastly, think about adding the state or province you live in to your "User CP". Someone has just what you want, but they are figuring you live 2000 miles away just like it always seems to happen on this board.
