How do you eliminate the brake booster?
Hey guys I saw a 73-87 chevy the other day and he didn't have a brake booster behind his master cylinder. Is there any kind of kit or performance master cylinder of some kind to relocate or eliminate the big round brake booster from the firewall?

Power brakes are nice to have. But you can eliminate it if you want I guess. Just buy a master for your truck without the power brake option and fab a way to mount it.

My 57 did not have power brakes. that thing was hell to stop. I use to put my foot on the pedal and push hard as hell were I was pushing myself up off my seat it was not fun to stop. but it took off fast has hell.

un hook the line going to the brake booster and plug it.and drive around for a few days with no power brakes.

I think everyone misunderstood except mongoose...
What I ment is there any kind of kit to relocate the booster or some other kind of power brake setup. I dont want to rig up my truck to not have power brakes. What about a street rod setup to move the master cylinder/booster under the floor? I think it would require a floor mount pedal, but there should be plenty of room under the floor in that area.

The early years of our trucks were available with manual disc brakes. You could go backwards and convert to manual, but I don't know why you would want to.
Many of the aftermarket big brake kits use a manual system as well. Take a look at CPP, or Wilwood.

There are plenty of "remote master cylinder" kits out there and at least a few that seperate the booster from the master and mount it remotely too. It's more a matter of cost versus skills and motivation.
