engine swap from 250 to 350 small block?
Looking for info on what needs to go and what is need to swap from a 250 to a 350 small block. So far I have the 350 engine and plan on using a 700r4 transmission. So far I have pulled the old 250 and 3 speed transmission. I know I will need radiator, trans lines, possible drive shaft not sure there, crossmember since mine is gone, engine stands. So please help me out guys with what other items I will need to do the swap. Any items I can use again??? Also what about the 2 perches on the frame where trans tunnel starts has a bolt on each side that goes to 250 engine? Thanks for any help Brandon

Are you planning on mounting it in the 6 cylinder position (farther back)?
Lots of threads here on the swap.

I have a good 200 4r trans. that will bolt up to your 350. I had it in my 72 GMC with a 355 motor.

Re: engine swap from 250 to 350 small block?
1st what yr is your truck? Get some V8 engine towers and mount them in the forward postion in the frame, meaning move the forward from where the 6cly towers were mounted.
Remove the crossmember that held the manual trans, bell housing inplace. Your gonna need a auto sterring column, auto linkage and a auto crossmember Depending on the yr of your truck your throttle linkage, cable could be a issue also! From reading your post it sounds like the rest you have figured out yourself, best of luck! Donnie

Re: engine swap from 250 to 350 small block?
you can run the 6cyl stands but it moves the engine back about 3-4 inches but everything still clears you can also run a floor shifter if you dont wont to covert to auto column and linkage. the auto crossmember is easy to find or you could build your own
