What to do what to do....

So I'm trying to decide what transmission to use in my truck, i have a 67 LWB that i have been working. I finally graduated from auto mechanics so now i have some time to work on it.

Right now i have a SM465 transmission but i want to go with something else like a 5 speed so i can have overdrive. I thought about the muncie M22's but from what i've read first gear seems too high and a little doggish out on the highway depending whats in the rear for gearing. I have kinda narrowed it down to the NV4500, TKO500 or 600 from the research i have done i just wanted to hear what you guys thought, it will be behind a 350 mostly stock with headers, performer intake, and holley 650 carb for now.
I'm looking for more of a street strip type setup mostly street i just want to do it right the first time. I want to go with a good strong transmission then i can build the engine as i go. I would like to stick with a manual and i was thinking 3.73's in the rear.

I guess im just wandering what you guys are running and how its working for you before i dive into something lol anything would be appreciated
