AC compressor how can you tell by looking
I have found a couple used ac compressors how can I tell if they are any good just by looking them over?

Or from spinning them by hand, They need to be put under pressure/load and ran at speed.

... those compressors can take some spinning. Was on the freeway the other day doin about 75-80, w/ the a/c on.. good n cold... and it was cycling on and off like it's supposed to... started wondering that it has to be hard on em.. to go from a dead stop to super high R.P.M.'s when the clutch engages...seems rough to me

you cant tell, but if you are going to get a used one. Make sure its not locked up, the clutch isnt worn paper thin, and its not covered in a/c oil/dye where its put together or front seal. make sure the oil in it isnt black.
