Correct drvs alt mounting brackets
Would anyone have a pic of the correct mounting hardware for the drvs side V8 with the original manifolds?
The set I have is not correct. It hits the embossed section of the exhaust manifold. Asked a few members parting out trucks if they have any available but want to make sure this time I ask for the correct ones. Last edited by 67gmcstepside; 08-22-2010 at 09:15 AM. |

Re: Correct drvs alt mounting brackets
thats the correct bracket so i'd think the problem is with your manifold not the bracket

Re: Correct drvs alt mounting brackets
In another pic I just looked at with the alternator mounted, it looks like the bottom mount is lower on the head than what your holding it. I haven't been outside to look at mine yet so that's all I'm going off of. The pic is in the parts section in the thread "69 c10 for sale".

Re: Correct drvs alt mounting brackets
Here is one looking down on it.
Front underside looking at it. Close up. You can see I made some spacers for it. This was to align the pulleys though not to clear the exhuast. From behind it.

Re: Correct drvs alt mounting brackets
The bracket you show on your post is a 69-72 alt bracket. You'll have to switch to 69-72 exhaust manifold to use it. Here is a picture of the 67-68 bracket that uses the bosses on the manifold:
I hope this helps.
