Thanks Everyone!! It's up and running.
(Sorry, I couldn't locate my original post to update. I wish there was a button that would bring up all of the posts under one's login.)
Anyway, I was fighting an intake manifold job where I had twisted a bolt off and had to remove the intake to get it out. I finished and was warming up the engine when it blew a hose on the radiator. I didn't hear it and thought I cooked the engine but it turns out I didn't. I followed everyone's instructions on setting the distributor timing and it is up and running! (Even though I made another dumb mistake, I dropped a screwdriver down the distributor hole but was able to retrieve it with needlenose pliers. I can't believe that long screwdriver even fit down the hole.) Anyway, thanks again to all! Thankfully the comedy of errors is over now. |

Congrats. When you work on your truck, you might want to slow down a little and take your time. Double check everything and then check it again. Glad you're up and running.

Congrats. The feeling of accomplishment of fixing something yourself is what this hobby is all about. Confidence and lessons learned will always help you with your next job. Just remember that when you become an ace mechanic you have the responsibility to share what you know with others.
