Re: Brake Drum supplier?
Nope, but if you do find one - I'd be interested to know to.
They are pretty hard to find, and have pretty much told myself when mine go beyond their life I'm gonna convert to disc.

I got some several years ago from them. I dad them checked at a brake shop to make sure they were true. |

Re: Brake Drum supplier?
That's an 11" drum...
I don't know about the OP, but I am running the original 12" drums. "We're sorry, but there are no results in this parts category for 1968 Chevrolet K20 3/4 ton Sub 4WD 8 Cylinders 5.3L 4BL OHV. Please select another vehicle or click on the Parts tab at the top of the page to see the available parts for this vehicle."

Re: Brake Drum supplier?
the K/20 drums are different..the flange where the hub is..way bigger. deeper offset of drum too.
Unlike the 6 lug drums..fit front and rear 2wd and 4wd from 1950 to 1970 I will get you pics of new ones in boxes and part # in the morning.. |

Re: Brake Drum supplier?
I know it's not gonna be this easy, and I'm sure they've already been tried -- but they do say they stock drums for everything.
The site lists them for '68-'69 K20 and Suburban, with p/n and price. http://brakeperformance.com/site/brake_drums.php

Re: Brake Drum supplier?
You are right, Vectorit. I have been told from everybody so far that the 12" 3/4 4x4 drums have been discontinued. I will try the brake performance site tomorrow as well. Thanks for the help, guys, but it is looking pretty bleak. NAPA said they used to use an oversized outside dimension drum from another vehicle and mill it down, but they even lost that link. Wish I would have just bought a junked '74 with the money I spent on the closed knuckle rebuild and gone to discs...

Thanks, Stocker! At first blush it seems that they are the right drums. We will see for sure when they arrive.

Re: Brake Drum supplier?
I am trying to find more of these..Not easy for sure...when i got this pair, there was 1/2 of dust on the boxes..these are 12 x 2 with the dana44 HD front axle. closed knuckle..
and if you need those seals.for the closed knuckles .you can get those from jcwhitney for a 1970 J10 ..same seals as chevy and were only a few bucks. while my new seals were coming in,i needed the truck..so i went to lowes and got a flat rubber seal for a toilet..2 of them..I drove the truck for a few days with those..I just had to cut holes in them. They worked long enough till the right ones came in. |

Re: Brake Drum supplier?
Sorry it took so long to get back on. Yes 70. The break shop thinks they found some but have to wait until Mon or Tues for them to get here.
But I would like to hear of some other places. I'll let everyone know where and if the brake shop found them. |

Re: Brake Drum supplier?
Might want to mic them so a prospective buyer will know how much meat is left on 'em.
Also will help to determine their value.
