In need of some help.

On the TF trucks is the smaller back window flat? And if flat is there a speical rubber for it? Did they ever have a curve? And if they did where can I find one? We installed my windsheild today with no problems but can not get the back glass in. The glass guy insists I have the wrong glass. I thought they were all flat!

It's curved. You can buy them from Classic Parts $50

Bobinc is right, they have a contour to them. BUT I have used flat plexiglass in a pinch with no troubles.

Boy, I sure thought it was flat. guess you learn something evey day. Never put in a small back glass before, but have owned some for parts trucks, and thought they were flat. Must not have looked close enough.

Re: In need of some help.

When I say a contour the rim of the glass isn't curved, the center is more a convex shape. If you put it flat on a table all the edges will contact the table but the center will be lifted. I've got one out that I can snap a picture of and post it here. I think they did that because a flat glass breaks easier than a curved one and the rear of the cab can get hit a lot with what ever goes into the bed

Thanks, I have found some dealers that sell the curved window, I just hate to have to buy new glass. I'm going to call the company I got it from first and see if there is a secret for installing the flat stuff, or see if they carry the curved. My biggest question is why would they sell it if it doesn't fit? Again thanks for the replys and if someone has tips for installing the flat glass I'm all eyes!

Re: In need of some help.

being 55'-59' fit why not put a "wanted" ad on craigslist it's free. i just put one on for 58',59' hood hinges and it was answered right away, might just end up with entire parts truck for little or nothing.

Re: In need of some help.

I looked at the glass I have out and it is curved side to side. Its about a 1/4 inch up in the middle, The top to bottom edge is flat if you put it on a table. But as I said before I have used flat glass and it worked ok.
