Average Cost To Have Truck Re-Wired?

Hey guys,

Going to be tearing into my truck soon, and was thinking about having it re-wired. Was wondering if any of you guys have done this in the past and what the average cost of something like this would be..

Thanks.

Matt

Are you talking about the whole truck? Lights, brakes, etc? The engine? Broad question, and I would imagine a very expensive one if you're talking about the whole truck.or for someone to put it in

Re: Average Cost To Have Truck Re-Wired?

AAW sells a complete kit for most trucks, example for a 64-66 they are around 540.00, this has all switches and fuses and connectors and everything. If your asking how much for someone to put that in....I would say too damn much, you can do it. I did, then I know you can.

Yeah, our old trucks are simple electrically. I think all the harnesses can be had for between $800 and $1000. Installation can be done easily by the truck owner. I've done it. Not hard.

Ya I was talking about everything - the complete truck. Im getting a 454 and going to be shaving up the firewall and wanted to run the wiring differently. Plus its almost 25 yrs old and stuff is starting to crack. Figured insurance wise, it would be a good investment to just update everything. I like the painless wiring kit, Im sure I could figure it out or have my father do it hes been an electrician for alot of years.

these things have great potential for hiding wires in the fenders, thats where I have my amp wire running so you cant tell I have one when you pop the hood

Same here, I dont have any inner fenders right now so it was even easier to hide my amp wire. Thats what im shooting for though, I want as little wire showing as possible.

Re: Average Cost To Have Truck Re-Wired?

The painless kit is pretty good just keep your old harness for reference. I did mine it wasn't too bad but I was in a hurry so I didn't tuck anything and now I wish I had big time..
