what are these for?

i found these in a 1970 truck i parted out they are nos edge guards. i think there for the door but not sure. it says

edge guard #993802

does any one have any ideas?

they are nos door edge guards hopefully left and right

Hard to tell from the pic. But they do still sell edge guards at LMC, Brothers etc. Don't see to many installed though. Guess they didn't go over to well. Kinda like the stainless gutter stuff on the cab top. Available but they didn't get very popular.

Those are a worthwhile find.They were both factory options as well as GM accessories and came through on many trucks.'71 2-door?Was there anything else ?There were no adverse problems with these and they served their purpose well.

I have them on my 71 and they have saved me many door dings. Well worth the money and time to install IMO.

after i paint my truck i might kill any one who dings it lol but my doors are at a normal cars window hiegh so i might be ok

My SPID shows them as it was made when it was manufactured in St. Louis. When I got the truck, they had been removed but were still in the truck, behind the seat. No, I'm not going to reuse them.
