Re: Found a '74
Sam's has a 8000# Champion winch for $355
My ex boss had the 10,000# Champion on his roll back trailer. It works great and comes with a snatch block. The 8000# should be plenty, I have dragged some big stuff with a single line with the 10K, never had to double it.

Re: Found a '74
Yeah I've been staring at a few different 8k ones. Just gotta figure out if I want to gamble on a reman that's a lot cheaper, or go new. Not like I'll be using it a ton, probably a tool I'd use every few months at most actually. I'll get something figured out soon though and be ready for next time.
Went down to the shop and spent a few moments on the new beast. I was dying to know what color it used to be. Of course there is no RPO label anywhere, so I started uncovering the VIN plate in the door jamb at least. Low and behold the single stage paint was coming off pretty darn easy with thinner. I can see why they painted it red, I'm thinking it was a lime green or a shiny olive green. One photo with flash, one without. Oh the ideas going through my head on "what to do" and "where to start".
