Polyurethane Body Mount Bushings

I've heard great things about polyurethane suspension bushings, but I'm curious about the polyurethane body mount bushings. Has anyone used these? are they better than the stock rubber ones? Any input is appreciated.

id like to try some out they seem like they would last longer since they cant dryrot like rubber

I just installed a set yesterday and they seem to be much better quality than rubber. I had a major leaning issue to the passenger side and that's what it turned out to be. That's what happens when you use rubber, so I'm sure I won't run into this issue with the new urethanes.

I've used the polyurethane bushings for control arms on my Cutlass and they do wonders for alignment geometry, but I just wasn't sure if the polyurethane body mount bushings would create a rougher ride quality due to the urethane bushings having less give.

I had an 86 K30 and my dad had an 83 K30 dually both 4" rancho lifts. The 83 rode terrible compared to my 86 I never knew why...until I put Polyurethane cab mount bushings in my 86. I new with in the first 5 minutes of driving it why the 83 rode worse as I had installed poly cab mounts in his when we built it. I ordered a new set of GM cab mounts and took the poly ones back out of my 86. In my opinion stick with the OE rubber bushings.

I see what you mean, but if your suspension is all working properly then I wouldn't think body mount bushings would have that huge of an effect on the ride quality.

I would not have thought cab bushings would affect the ride of the 83 until i put them in my 86 then switched them back out. You can feel the difference between rubber and poly bushings. Definitely up to the opinion but, I will put rubber in my next truck for sure.

i put the whole kit on my 85, and one problem i ran into it that even thought my OEM where dry rotted, the cab still sat high, but after intalling the poly's, my cab line sits about 1/4 inch below the bed. i know its an easy fix, just by addin washers.. but overall i like them.. just make sure u use alot of the lube supplied with them. i failed to use it on one of the lower control arms and that thing squeeked like crazy... i had to remove, lube and reinstall.

So the polyurethane bishings can never go bad because they can't dry rot? or can they still become weathered and deteriorate?

X2... i'd stick with the oem rubber. and you gotta figure its taken 20-30 years for them to rot out the 1st time

You do have a good point there, its not like rubber lasts forever. And i have notices that the poly bushings are cheaper in cost than the factory replacement rubber ones. But I think I may just pay the extra and get the factory replacements...

When purchasing the new bushings would it be best to get all new harware with it? none of them are rusted at all but has anyone had better luck just replacing everything instead of mixing new bushings with old hardware?
