Saw this in front of me today......
Not a Fan of the Louvers.
They're all over the Tailgate AND hood too. My Mechanic told me he took it to the Local Muffler Shop to have some quiter Mufflers put on it. (What's sa Matta Wif People)?

Re: Saw this in front of me today......
When I bought my 72 GMC 4X4 last November the hood had about ten thousand louvers in it! Even with the windows up I could hear everything under the hood! I put an add on Craigs list for a trade and had a none louvered hood the next day! I dont envy the guy I traded, I would hate to sand and clean up all those louvers to prep it for paint!

Re: Saw this in front of me today......
Wonder if the comments would be the same if this thread was titled "hey what do you think of MY truck"

Re: Saw this in front of me today......
Im not a fan of that particular layout of the louvers, but I like them none the less. Its one of thoe things that screams true old school, and the right placement on them they can look badass.
As far as louvers in the hood making things noisy, well, I like my truck loud. I want people to know Im coming through. Maybe they will look out for me and not hit my classic truck lol |

Re: Saw this in front of me today......
Louvers:
I seem to remember a pretty nice red short bed ( I think) that showed up at Fine 69's place w-a-y back around 2004 -5 for his summer meet -n- greet, and the driver who shall be nameless had to get rescued because she had mistakenly put "DIESEL" in the gas tank and a couple of guys had to drain it and save her from further embarassment. That goes W-A-Y back before a few of you folks even heard about "louvers" She had louvers on the hood.............................

Re: Saw this in front of me today......
For the record Hot Rodders have been adding louvers to panels since the 1930's and the "fad" is still popular today. It ain't a Hot Rod if it ain't got louvers..... http://www.streetrodderweb.com/tech/...all/index.html Last edited by lakeroadster; 10-13-2010 at 06:19 PM. |
