Is there a correct propeller shaft alignment?
I would assume that there is a right and wrong alignment on the front drive shaft. Looking at the constant velocity U-joint, if the front yoke on the drive shaft is horizontal, I am thinking that the other end at the slip shaft should be horizontal also. I looked under my other 4x4's and 2 were 90 degrees off and one was as I described. What say the experienced 4x4 gurus. (or doesn't it matter at all)

On a shaft with a double cardan joint at the t-case, it does not matter what the orientation of the other end (u-joint at axle) is.

What Tim said. Also the angle at the u-joint end should be as close as possible to zero degrees.

Ok, now inside this double cardon joint is a spring. What is it's purpose? Because it sure doesn't look like it does much of anything.........
