Local car mart (70 c-10)

We have a local "Car Mart" at out Fairgrounds.
Well yesterday there was a 70 Chevy Shortbed Fleetsid.
In need of major Body Work, your average Panels, Rust...California Truck.
No AC, No Power Braked, No Power Steering.
Different colors on all 4 cornes and "rattle canned" in some spots.
Plus's (according to the Seller), were NEW BENCH SEAT, and a hot Street Engine built by a Local Shop (small Block).
The Engine Builder has been around for at least 30 years and is held in high regard. Nothing was mentioned about the tranny (it was an Automatic).
Can't remember if it was 5 or 6 lug and or Drum Brakes all the way around.

Bottom line was his asking price..................$12K !!!!!!!!!!!!

If money were no object, I would but it for $4K, take the engine out and sell the rest.

NO WAY ...was this Truck worth $12K, not even $9K.
Matbe......just maybe....$5k to the right buyer.

Wish I'd of had my Cell Phone Camera.

Its the NEW SEATS that drives the prices up on these trucks......On the other hand I see this stuff all the time and I just shake my head and leave, most of the time I just tell them why it aint worth what their asking for it, then leave.....
