Tailgate Hardware Remove/Install -- How?

I bought a new tailgate to replace my current one with a 2 inch bow in it, end to end. How do I remove the latch hardware from the old one? I see there are 3 big phillips head bolts in the center to hold the center section, and there are two bolts holding the latch assembly on each end, but the cover plates on the end appear to be attached by a spring loaded mechanism. Anyone know the right way to do this BEFORE I just cut it open with a plasma cutter?

Figured it out myself. Once the center paddle is unbolted, the end rods slip off and are removed thru the ends. Thanks anyway.

You got it correct. Don't be afraid to just tear into your truck to figure something out. They are pretty simple.
