Installed my Longbed Tonneau
Well...here are some pictures of my tonneau cover I just installed for my 8ft longbed. This is an Extang (Black max model) cover and I am pretty impressed with it considering how little I paid for it (around 220). The frame assembled quicker than a kid's toy, and the only minor difficulty was snapping the cover down, which requires a little bit of grip strength. The cover needed to stretch a bit but since I live in Monterey, there's no luck waiting for sunlight to heat the cover up a little for an easier stretch. Overall, installation only took my around 30-45 minutes to complete.
As for the cover, I didn't need anything fancy, just something to keep my bed out of sight and provide a little bit of protection.

also like the way the new frames attach to the rails with no drilling or scratching.

Re: Installed my Longbed Tonneau
I purchased mine at:
http://4wheelonline.com/Categories.aspx?CategoryId=1785 They were pretty good, had it delivered in less than two weeks. All the auto/truck places on the web have pretty much the same exact price for these so it all depends on your location and how quick they can ship. This company offered free shipping, but most of them do. The clamps provided clamp right onto the side rail. Not bad for 200 bucks. There is also a good long term warranty on the frame and the cover as well. Us Longbed folks don't get too many choices for soft covers!

Re: Installed my Longbed Tonneau
How easy it to go on/off with this one? Does it just unsnap all the way around? I was wondering about attachment for the front and rear. I like the looks of this one alot and very well may have just found my next purchase for the truck! Also, is the tailgate operational without having to unfasten anything?
Thanks for the pics...good looking truck too!

Re: Installed my Longbed Tonneau
Nice looking. I need to buy a Tonneau Bed Cover but it's on the back burner for now. I need to buy a set of 15" TT II's first. Nice addition.

Re: Installed my Longbed Tonneau
The cover snaps right off completely, or wherever you need it to come off. Also, it does not interfere with the tailgate operation. The metal clamps that attach to the side rails (for a longbed, there are four on each side) are tightened down with a simple Allen head screw for each and come off quite easily. The only attachments are on the sides, not the front or rear.

Re: Installed my Longbed Tonneau
Mine is EXT-BM2315, and that's for the Long Bed. They also have the short bed available (EXT-BM2310).
