SM465 adapters?
So the truck is an 85, 465 and I think a 208 transfer case. My transmission has some bad bearings in it so I picked up a replacement from from a cool dude I met on craigslist.
I just got the transmission out of my truck and the output shaft is 1 foot or more long, the transmission I bought to replace it has an output shaft about 3 inches long. Is there an adapter to make the transmission I have work with my transfer case or should i go buy the 205 transfer case and drive line from this dude? |

Re: SM465 adapters?
There isn't an adapter I am aware of to mate that combo up. Sometime in the early 80s they changed the shaft length and the bolt pattern on the face of the transmission. Personally I'd go get the 205 from the guy especially since he has the driveline. Its a much stronger t case than the 208.

Re: SM465 adapters?
Thanks for clearing that up, I made a stupid assumption that the sm465's all had the same output shafts. I thought I researched plenty online but I guess I did not look hard enough.
