Semi Wheels?

I have a chance to get a set of 22.5" wheels off a Volvo for next to nothing for my truck, What I wanted to know is where can I get them turned down to 22" and how much will it cost? Also will the Volvo Semi wheels work with the 8-10 lug adapters? and is it worth getting them turned down or is it better to buy a new set?
Thanks for your help and sorry if this is in the wrong forum

I was doing some research and he was the number one guy to go and get semi rims milled down, or bought new from. Everyone I have talked to said that's a great company to deal with.

Re: Semi Wheels?

We put 10.00 20" rims on a Dodge power wagon back in the 80's. The rims were the open type (no center section) We took the existing wheels and laid them out so that they were centered front to back and around the edges. Then we cut steel blocks and welded them to each wheel and made sure everything was evenly spaced. Then it was off to the machine shop to balance them. Then mount tires and balance them. Worked out quite well. The tires lasted like forever!! 10 ply bias belted tires designed for a semi carrying a 5000# truck. I will say this, the ride was nothing short of awful.

Little stuff left to do is mount winch, wet sand & buff out and build belly pan\running boards. Body work takes lots and LOTS of beer!!!! God, Guts and Guns made America and God, Guts and Guns will preserve it! The worst thing you could do is get into my sights, but that don't matter, you'll never know it, cause you'll never hear the shotJim or Paladin whichever you choose.

Re: Semi Wheels?

Have you priced aftermarket wheels? Here in Texas everyone is running those on there 3500's. I would assume that the price of wheels have come down.

Re: Semi Wheels?

Im going to price out each option and go from there. I live in Canada so i would have to ship my wheels out to get machined and then shipped back so ill have to see what will be the better option.

Re: Semi Wheels?

Most places that cut those wheels down to 22 in. will charge you about 125 per wheel. You would also need adapters that are 8 to 10 lug which will run about 600 used and 900 new. Good luck.
