HMMM...... Think I should go for it??
1968 Chevrolet short bed truck - $1500
This 1968 model Chevy short bed truck has been in my area since new..It was automatic on the column when new, but was changed over to an automatic in the floor some years back..It does not have the original motor, it has a later model Chevy engine...It has been parked for about 2 or 2 1/2 years..It was running when parked but someone has stolen the alternator off of it, so there is no alternator now...The truck is really solid for the year and would make an excellent truck to restore or to complete a project truck you might need parts for..It's really too nice of a truck to part out, especially since it is a really solid truck and is complete...I have a clear Tennessee title and I will take 1,500.00 (fifteen hundred dollars) for it..I will ONLY take cash, no checks of any kind and my price is FIRM...I can not respond to any e mails, PNONE CALLS ONLY...I am in the Birchwood- Georgetown area off Hwy. 58....I was going to restore it myself, but just don't have the time...call me at...423-or my cell number is 423-...Call before 10:00 PM...If I don't answer, I will return your call shortly...Thanks!!!...The spots that you see on the photos are NOT rust, they are actually some small places where the paint has flaked off, and the primer or a previous color is showing through...The truck might run and might not, since it has been sitting for a while, I don't know..BUT, it is an excellent one to restore since the body is so solid... •Location •it's NOT ok to contact this poster with services or other commercial interests

Re: HMMM...... Think I should go for it??
Buy it! Even if the motor is crap (which is what I'd assume) it would be worth the money.I don't understand why a seller wouldn't buy an alternator and swap a battery in to offer a vehicle as running condition.I assume it's going for that price as a non-operating truck and for the cost of an alt. I'd think it could go for another $500,at least.

I called the seller and got directions.
Grabbed some cash and hauled ass.. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Only to see someone else loading it up on a trailer. Oh well. The search continues..>..>. . . .

Re: HMMM...... Think I should go for it??
bummer man.. it seems the average amount a SWB goes for around here is $2500. And those are the ones needing a lot of attention.
