Re: Found a GOLDMINE of cheap parts!
Any chance there's any C-50 school buses out there? I'm looking for some gauges out of one...

If there are any 67-68 front clips out there & in good shape I'd be interested.

Re: Found a GOLDMINE of cheap parts!
I'm definitely in for a 69-70 Grille if there's one in really good shape for decent money. Let me know! Thanks!

Re: Found a GOLDMINE of cheap parts!
FYI, another place by Calamus or Wheatland -don't remember- just south of Highway 30 on gravel is an interesting old junkyard with a bunch of old stuff that I went to years ago. Kinda swampy- lots of snakes but I picked up Chrome 67 grill surround for $5!

Re: Found a GOLDMINE of cheap parts!
i talked to the grandson today and trust me he said the same thing, he feels awful for scraping all of this stuff but no one in the family has the time/interest to part all of these trucks out. (it'd make people sick to see how much trim has been cut into 3ft sections for scrap). he also said today they've sold/crushed 250 cars+trucks. there's some decent stuff out there for sure but its overwhelming just how much stuff is out there.

Re: Found a GOLDMINE of cheap parts!
everything in the pictures i posted tonight is being sold as a entire truck well for now that's what they're trying to do. there are two complete clips that i got pictures of that are in good shape that can be had for a good price. i looked at a 68 complete clip that had some badly dented fenders, but they only wanted 50 bucks for the whole clip including the hood. They're going to have an auction in the spring and i'm sure by then some of these trucks will be able to be parted. i'll try to keep people updated on what's going on with these trucks as best i can.

Re: Found a GOLDMINE of cheap parts!
show up with a trailer and a pocket of cash and take em home they're trying to sell the trucks outright first before they crush them. i sympathise with them though, they hate it as much as we do but they just don't have the time to sort through everything, inventory, and sell all of the parts that are out there.

Re: Found a GOLDMINE of cheap parts!
et702, the only tailgates i saw that weren't completly roached were fleetside ones. i wish i could have gotten out there about 3 months earlier when they started to get rid of stuff. i can only imagine out of 250 cars/trucks that dissapeared how many good parts were there.

Re: Found a GOLDMINE of cheap parts!
They're decent. I'd say fair driver quality. Some rust and a little bent but not terrible

Re: Found a GOLDMINE of cheap parts!
Todd, do you have any idea how much they want for that Custom/20 with A/C, the green and white one? Sorry we couldn't come today. I forgot about pics with the wife today.

Re: Found a GOLDMINE of cheap parts!
Dieselwrencher. No worries I got myself into trouble for spending the better part of the day out there today. As far as I know they're wanting scrap prices for everything, with maybe a little bit on top. That truck still has the compressor and everything still hooked up. Lockdoc way eyeing it too
