Steering columns for a 56 truck
What is the best steering column to match up with an 80's style GM front clip? I want a column shift with indicator for automatic with overdrive. Would I be farther ahead to spend the extra money on Ididit or Flaming River columns. The older van columns would be pretty well worn by now wouldn't they? Any input would be appreciated.

Re: Steering columns for a 56 truck
Many folks scout out the various bone yards and install one found there. I have bought enough parts that didn't work out to stock an auto parts warehouse. I installed an Ididit column in mine

Re: Steering columns for a 56 truck
I just put in a Jeep Column. It was a TJ unit. The steering shaft worked perfect with a little cutting.
