Brought Home Another Stray Today
This 68 K10 has joined the pack - but the 70 hauler would not stay. Love these trucks !!

Re: Brought Home Another Stray Today
Great buy! And a really nice hauler, . That's one burb I'll probably regret buying. Paul, at least I can take great comfort in knowing it went to a good home, .

Re: Brought Home Another Stray Today - new pics added
Here are a few more pics - two interior for the Suburban and also the hauler. The inside of the Suburban is very nice and quite original in appearance, which I love. In reply to sleepertruck72, we will drive it to the city once in a while (200 or 300 miles, depending whether it is Albuquerque or Phoenix area) so those folks can turn and see a really original Suburban that lives way out in the forest. Of course, we will drive it to the airport in Alb to pick up our kids/grandkids when they come to visit (they love riding in these old trucks) and we may put it in the "Chrome in the Dome" show in Springerville.
The hauler is a very special truck - built on a new C30 chassis in Oklahoma in 1970 by an outfit that made these special for guys that ran early funny cars. It runs like a marvel (BB and 4 speed) moves on 18" wheels, has well-designed compartments for EVERYTHING, including a spare engine, and the pass-through to sleeper behind the cab (upper box) is slick. I have a 1972 C30 Mohome that i would like to convert to such a hauler, but have no hope of doing one so beautifully. Enjoy these - a rare treat for us way out here.

Re: Brought Home Another Stray Today
Very nice 'burb! I like the color, love that it's a 68 and a 4x4. Yes I'm drooling all over my keyboard. I'm building my 72 C/10 with 67 front sheetmetal and bed and am going to convert it to 4x4 and shooting it the medium green that came original on my 72. Love that color on these trucks. I'm trying too talk my wife into one of these old burbs for our family hauler but with her it's a no go. I just can't understand how anybody could not love these trucks!

Re: Brought Home Another Stray Today
Hey Rob H, keep talking with her and letting her see some of the great pics on here and the value of some of these oldies - she may come around.
For us, all of this started in 1982 with a lone 1972 1/2 ton 4Wd Suburban that we bought to haul the 4 daughters and their ski stuff, etc. It turned out to be such a GREAT vehicle for all of us - very safe for wife and later the kids to drive and most dependable - and I took it all sorts of rough places hunting and in BAD snow - that the eventual idea to accumulate others got good support.
