Show your shorty headers!!!

Can't seem to find some powder coated shortys for a reasonable price. Purchased some chrome ones that didn't fit so posted em in the for sale section. What is everyone else running on their V8s?!?!?!

Re: Show your shorty headers!!!

Check out my build thread. Started with some headman longtubes that did not fit well and finish started to turn with truck just in storage. I am now running ceramic coated Sanderson Headers I got form Early Classic Industries I believe. Cost about 400.00. Fit and look great.

Re: Show your shorty headers!!!

Promise to take some snaps of my sandersons as soon as I swing by the shop, assuming they've put them on. I bought them for a regular 350 and thank gawd they fit the vortec heads on my ramjet. I hope they'll hook up allright to the magnaflow exhaust kit I just got.

I am running a used crate 350 that I put vortec heads on. I got the magnaflow manifold back kit also. Had to have muffler make up two pipes shop connect the headder collectors to the magnaflow x pipe. I could not the the pieces from the kit to work.

Re: Show your shorty headers!!!

I liked the idea of the stainless, but could not use the inlet pipes or the tailpipes (due to 4/6 drop)

If I was starting over, I would either spend some $$$ to have a custom stainless setup made using the out of box magnaflow mufflers and x pipe (and have tubes pass thru crossmember)

Or I would have used the magnaflow mufflers/x pipe and run reg galvanized exhaust pipe thru the crossmember (after cutting holes) and been done with it.

Re: Show your shorty headers!!!

I just purchased and installed a set of Patriot Clipsters w/ ceramic coating. They are actually for a early 70's Chevelle, but fit on my 454 with turbo 400 trans, with just a little notching of the passenger side frame rail. Sorry but I don't have any pics right now. I bought them from Summit for around $350.

I have heard good and not so good things about the clipsters, please let us know your opinion on em after running them for a while!!!! Any more SBC headers out there that fit our trucks? Early Chevelle's and Camaro's are apparently a good fit, and pics or other car or truck headers work???
