got a 65 930 GMC today
made the deal today. 930 is a Canadian 1t. has a 250 in it which I think replaced a 292 as the right side frame tower is just sitting on the top of the frame with no holes showing underneath. that should be an easy fix though. major problem is rust at the top of the windshield and I do have a spare good roof with the frt posts. it has a 12' lifting deck on it but told him that I didn't want it. got it for $200.00. he had put the battery charger on it to get it going as I left. he said that it would go 80 on the highway(and I hope that he didn't mean kilometers per hr) so it may have a 373 rear end in it
think that I will shorten the w/b and just use it. fix the rust problems ron |

Re: got a 65 930 GMC today
it is just the same as a 2500 on 17' wheels
it would be a 30 series in US and canadian there is a 9 to go in frt to designate canadian model. will supply a pic when I pick it up. it is only about a mile away from my shop on a farm. hasn't been used in about 3 years. I asked his wife about it about 5 years ago and left my card but never got a call. it was pretty good then ron |

Re: got a 65 930 GMC today
that makes sense. I like those, it must be the 133 wheelbase then?

it has the same problem that yours does; it has a 250 w/manual steering, but I think that the brkts are easier to find for a 250. got a 283 sitting here though with the proper brkt have all of the body parts here to repair all the rust problems if i want. even have a s/w/b frame here if I get so enthused. I don't go very far , and I just need something to use once in awhile. I haven't used my 64 in about 2 1/2 years( a lot of procastrination). just walk with the dog to whatever that I have to do or ride one of my bikes. ron |

Re: got a 65 930 GMC today
yes but you guys are slipping. I can remember as a kid that at one point our dollar was up almost 1.20 to your 1.00
just transferred over from my old computer 50 gigs of rawhide. I hope to have my truck finished before I view all of that(and that is only the 1st 3 season). thay were made before a series was trimmed to just 13 episodes a year ron |

Re: got a 65 930 GMC today
I think that I have a couple of months on you 2/2/45
do they have the whole series on you tube. i never look at you tube. I have about 250 gis of blues and jazz and that is playing most of the time and it is a pain to turn off to look at something and put music back on. it all goes into the shop on an amp anyway I like watching dusters. might even go to the theatre to see the new true grit coming out. mind you I have about a doz free passes i may go there once a year ron |

1961. More than a couple. Never look at utube. It has everything you would ever want. Lots of old truck stuff. Even has Raw hide in Japanese. Kinda funny watching Clint speaking Japanese. He's still a bad a$$.

Re: got a 65 930 GMC today
not really a big truck, same body as a 1/2 or 3/4 t. not arguing that it is not a 133" which is std for a 1t, but it may way been stretched
as soon as I get back over there I will measure as I said in us it would be a c30 but in canada it is called a c930 ron |

Re: got a 65 930 GMC today
What kind of project do you have in mind for this truck? I picked a 62 c30 step side up several years ago. It belonged to a hog farmer, and was/is in rough shape. Still don't know what to do with it....
