My son & I finished it, the free 69!!!
Well last year or so I posted some pics of a free 3/4 ton long bed 2 wheel drive 69, my son and I got from a fella in Sedro Wolley. We put in on a 69 4x4 frame got a nice 14 bolt and D44 for it. overhauled the engine, welded in a new dash, new seat, carpet, painted it inside and out. That's Summitt gun metal gray. I had wanted to try this paint for a while and was happy with it. This was his senior project for school. He thinks it is great, I do agree with him. He is hooked on his truck and likes the thumbs up and attention he gets. I like when he tells me how many of his friends in school really like it. We need to get all the unger folks on board these nice trucks. He and I are trying.
Yea thats a 67-68 emblem on the side but I like those best on the fender, just ya'll would see that as incorrect, not the average guy. I use my 68,454 stepside for pulling and can't wait untill this comming season when I can pull into the event with his truck pulling mine on the trailer. I'm getting a tear in my eye just thinking about it. A few pics. He is 17.

Re: My son & I finished it, the free 69!!!
Awsome job! I wish my Dad did stuff like that with me (or anything for that matter).
I'm 22 and my new father-in-law is starting to teach me about cars/trucks and I've really loved getting to spend time with him and learn SO much.

Very nice truck, and pair of trucks for that matter! What a cool experience and build. You should both be proud.

The stance on the truck is great. Tall enough to set you apart, but low enough to keep the bed useful.

Great story and the truck looks great. You two do good work together. My son just turned 9 and I'm hoping to get him out in the garage with me more often. Thanks for sharing.
