Re: 4x4 sway bar changeover
The 72 cross member does not have the provisions to mount a sway bar.

Re: 4x4 sway bar changeover
Its $125 shipped to NC. It comes with sway bar, cross member with mounting brackets, spring plates, and sway bar mounts all disassembled for shipping. You need bolts to attach cross member to frame, new bushings (these are old), and dollar store oven cleaner.

I put up several pics on the 4x4 messaage board a few months ago. Try a search and you should find it.
Thanks, Ray |

Re: 4x4 sway bar changeover
Do you have any pics of this installed in a 67-72? Would the factory front crossmember have to be removed?

Re: 4x4 sway bar changeover
Yes, I have pics in the 4x4 forum. Look for sway bar...its close to the top.
The 67-72 cross member gets removed and replaced with the square body cross member. |

Re: 4x4 sway bar changeover
I used the 87 ton 4x4 front sway bar...simply drilled 2 holes in the 67-72 front crossmember and bolted the sway bar to rear leaf spring shackle's (1/4 inch think stock with holes)
Was easy to do without changing the front member.. this is on a stock 69 K/20 frame. I hauled 5,280 lbs of gravel on it today and it handles great. |

Re: 4x4 sway bar changeover
Gary, I used this same changeover on my 72 K20 with a 4" lift. I used some thick steel flat stock between the cross member and the sway bar. I thought it looked good.
