Headers and Shift Linkage
I need some help/advice. I installed some Patriot mid length headers on a 454 with a TH400 trans. It appears that the exhaust will now interfer with the shifter linkage. I have done a lot of searching but don't seem to see anything about TH400. The posts I find suggest the Lokar cable shifter or the Lokar rod style linkage. What have you guys that have used the Patriot or similar headers done about the trans linkage?

Re: Headers and Shift Linkage
It is very common for headers to interfer with shift linkages. Especially with a big block. You may be able to change out your factory linage for one from Lokar or another aftermarket brand.

Re: Headers and Shift Linkage
Lokar cable shifter is what I used. It works great and wasn't terribly difficult to install.

Re: Headers and Shift Linkage
Has anyone used the Lokar rod type trans linkage in a similar setup?

Re: Headers and Shift Linkage
Project 67, what engine and tranny are running and do you know what brand of header you have? Any pics would be great. Thanks

Re: Headers and Shift Linkage
I used the Lokar rod setup, but I have a 4l80e and I cant get it to go down in low gear. But other than that it ... it works...
