Never seen one of those, but that doesn't mean anything. Is it really that big or is just the picture? Looks like it sits higher than the core support. I know my truck had the little stone filter in the carb, but that was all in the way of a fuel filter. Certainly someone on here will know for sure. Pretty interesting looking...

Definitely not original. They sure did add about a mile of fuel line to gain a filter. It's not a bad idea,but certainly not necessary.
